The Salford Branch needs volunteers who want to help people
with MS.
This involvement can take any form the volunteer wishes, the
vacancies
below are for the Salford MS Society Committee. For further

· Maintain
accurate branch membership records and ensure up-to-date details are sent to
the membership team at the MS National Centre.
· Provide
the membership team with about any changes of membership or to the committee.
Check, correct and return the printout of branch members.
· Ensure membership
details are held in strict confidence.
· To develop
and implement a branch fundraising plan to support the work of the MS Society
at regional and national levels.
· Co-ordinate
volunteer help in relation to fundraising activities
· Liase with
MS Society's corporate fundraising team concerning applications to companies
and trusts.
· Ensure the
appropriate licenses, permits, insurance cover etc is in place for fundraising
events.
· Provide
support and advice to the general public who wish to raise funds for the branch
· Work with
the treasurer
· To help
out where possible before, during and after branch fundraising events.
· Take
instruction from the Fundraising Officer.
· To
deputise for the Chairperson in their absence.
· Ensure
regular liaison on all major matters with the Chair.
· Keep up to
date on relevant issues relating to MS, the society and local branch
activities, policies and procedures.
· Works with
others to ensure the branch has sufficient volunteers and that they get the
necessary support and training.
· You must
promote MS Society volunteering at branch/local level.
· Identify
posts within the branch that need to be filled and co-ordinate efforts to recruit
volunteers to fill the posts.
· Interview
potential volunteers, take up references, plan inductions and ensure that
volunteers' personal details are held in confidence.
· Give
volunteers all the help and support they need.
